Arthroscopy in India

Arthroscopic in India is a surgical procedure in which an arthroscope and other surgical instruments are inserted via tiny incisions in the skin to examine and treat the interior formation of a joint for various problems. An arthroscope is an endoscopic device with a camera attached to it that enables the orthopedic surgeon to view the internal structures. There are different types of arthroscopic surgeries such as Knee Arthroscopy, Hip Arthroscopy, Shoulder Arthroscopy, Elbow Arthroscopy, Ankle Arthroscopy, Spinal Arthroscopy and Wrist Arthroscopy. The arthroscopy is performed by making a small incision on the side of the joint which needs treated by inserting an arthroscope. Other tiny incisions are made through which the surgical instruments are inserted that cuts, removes and stitches the injured tissues. After completion of the surgery, the arthroscope is withdrawn and the incision is closed with sutures. A dressing is used to cover the incision area and a brace may be used to wrap around the joint. Arthroscopy Benefits in India

The benefits of arthroscopy over traditional open surgery include the joint need not be opened up fully, instead only two small incisions are made- one for the arthroscope and one for the surgical instruments. It has reduced recovery time that may increase the rate of surgical success because of reduced trauma. Arthroscopy is especially useful for professional athletes, who frequently injure their joints and require quick healing time. Also, with arthroscopy there is less scarring because of the smaller incisions made. The surgical instruments used during the arthroscopy are smaller than the traditional instruments. The surgeons view the joint area on a video monitor and can diagnose and repair torn joint tissue, such as ligaments and menisci or cartilage.
